THE AFLW Grand Final rematch between Adelaide and Melbourne on Friday night has been moved from Norwood Oval to Glenelg Oval.
Norwood has had an extremely heavy workload of matches in recent weeks, coupled with heavy rain, and a recent AFLW practice match between Adelaide and North Melbourne was shifted at the last minute to West Lakes.
"We want to make sure this Grand Final rematch is played in the best possible conditions. After multiple inspections and consideration, we've decided to move the game to Glenelg Oval due to the quality of the playing surface at Norwood Oval," AFL general manager of women's football, Nicole Livingstone, said.
"Thank you to all the fans who have already purchased their tickets to what will be a great game of football – we look forward to seeing you all at Glenelg Oval on Friday night."
The game will remain at 7:10pm local time, and fans who have already bought tickets to Norwood will be able to use them at Glenelg.
Unley Oval – which is set to host Adelaide games later this season – does not have suitable broadcast lights for evening games.
