The AFL is pleased to advise that Michelle Dench and Shannon McFerran have been appointed as members of the Tribunal Jury Panel, ahead of the 2022 NAB AFLW Season Seven Competition kicking off this evening.

Both Michelle and Shannon have extensive football experience and will provide invaluable expertise as panel members.

Michelle was a stalwart player with Melbourne University Women's Football Club up until her retirement in 2009, where she played 111 games and had the senior best and fairest named after her.

Her impressive credentials include winning the Division One Melbourne University Women's Football Club best and fairest four times, playing in three premierships and being selected for the All-Australian team three times.

Shannon has been heavily involved in football since she pulled on the boots to play for the St Albans boys' team at the age of nine.

One of the most decorated VWFL players of all time, Shannon is a five-time Helen Lambert Medallist, 10-time club best and fairest winner, three-time premiership player and was All-Australian captain twice. She also previously held coaching roles with Carlton and Collingwood's AFLW team.

AFL Executive General Manager Football Operations, Legal & Integrity Andrew Dillon congratulated Michelle and Shannon on their new roles.

"These appointments are well-deserved and a great coup for the AFL – I look forward to seeing the football knowledge that Michelle and Shannon will both bring to this very important role when Season Seven starts this week," he said.
