Meanwhile, North Melbourne has signed 17-year-old soccer player Zoe Savarirayan as a rookie. A student at Melbourne's Wesley College, Savarirayan has played in the National Premier League for the Bulleen Lions and in the firsts squad with her school, and has recently tried her hand at Aussie Rules where she has excelled in the forward half.

"Zoe is a fantastic story, and we are so excited to have her join us at North," North Melbourne's AFLW list and performance manager Rhys Harwood said.

"After going to watch her play with Wesley, we quickly knew Zoe was a player we were keen to work with. Wesley have done a fantastic job with her football development, and wider sporting programs."

Geelong has added some depth to its ruck division, signing former netballer Samantha Gooden as a rookie for season seven.

"Samantha already has extensive experience in an elite sporting environment, and we’re excited by the diversity she will bring the Cats," Geelong head of AFLW and pathways Brett Johnson said.

"While she is still in the early stages of her development as a footballer, Samantha has shown promise already in her time at the Glenelg Tigers and we look forward to helping her further develop as a footballer at GMHBA Stadium."

Irish duo Cora Staunton and Brid Stack will once again line up in the orange and charcoal, with both players signing on for season seven.

Staunton has kicked 47 goals since joining the club in 2018 – nearly a third of the Giants' goals in that time – and sits equal-third on the competition's all-time goalkicking tally.

At the other end of the ground, Stack played every possible game last season after debuting in round one.

"Both bring with them great stories of resilience and we're thrilled to have them back for another season," GWS head of women's football Briana Harvey said.

The Giants will head to next week's draft with seven open list spots to fill.

After taking time to weigh up her future, former Fremantle skipper Kara Antonio will play in season seven of the NAB AFLW Competition.

Antonio, 31 in December, was unsure as to whether she would continue playing this year, but was keen to stick with Fremantle in at least a coaching capacity.

Whether Antonio will combine her playing duties with coaching remains up in the air.

Fremantle has lost backline coach Lisa Webb to the Western Bulldogs, with Webb's husband Marc already coaching the Dogs' men's midfield.

It comes as Adelaide has finalised its list ahead of the NAB AFLW Draft, with a host of youth re-committing to the club.

The Western Bulldogs have also re-signed the bulk of its playing list for the coming season, while confirming that youngster Aurora Smith will be moved to the inactive list as she recovers from a ruptured ACL.

At Carlton, former No.2 pick Lucy McEvoy has also committed to the club for two more seasons, while basketballer Taylor Ortlepp has also been signed as a rookie on a two-season deal.

Ortlepp, 24, has played alongside Blues Kerryn Peterson (née Harrington) and Jess Good at Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL, represented Australia at under-16 and under-17 level and has also played for Boston College in the US.

"Taylor visited the club and we were immediately impressed by her willingness to get involved in all areas of the program," Carlton head of women's footy Brett Munro said.

"She will work closely with our head of AFLW development Kade Simpson to build her strength and skills during pre-season.

"We signed Jess Good straight from the WNBL last season, and her progression was swift, playing eight games in her first season, so we are confident that Taylor can follow in her footsteps."

West Coast has had significant list turnover this off-season, but key defender Sophie McDonald and rebounder Belinda Smith have signed new deals.
