CAPTAIN Brianna Davey and first-year player Madison Prespakis (Picture: Jonathan Di Maggio) are joint-winners of Carlton’s AFLW best and fairest award.
Both polled 72 votes, with defender Kerryn Harrington third on 59.
Davey, who was best and fairest in 2017 and named best AFLW captain at the AFLPA awards this year, averaged 16 disposals, four tackles and three clearances this season after returning from a right knee reconstruction.
Prespakis enjoyed a brilliant first season in the AFLW, averaging 19 disposals, 11 contested possessions and five clearances.
She won the NAB AFLW Rising Star and AFLPA best first-year player awards and was named in the Virgin Australia AFLW All Australian team.
Prespakis also collected the Blues’ best first-year player award.
"Both players were simply outstanding all year and for them to share the award is fitting," coach Daniel Harford said.
"Their stories are so different; Bri coming back from an ACL injury and showing why she is one of the best players in the competition and Madison wanting to show she can play at this level and belong.
"Both players were instrumental in taking our club to a maiden AFLW Grand Final. I look forward to seeing both girls taking their game to yet another level next season."
Midfielder Natalie Plane won the Blue Bloods award for best showcasing the team’s values.
