UNLUCKY Brisbane midfielder Lily Postlethwaite has slotted back into preseason training seamlessly after returning from her second ACL injury in as many years.
Postlethwaite, who missed all of season six with a knee injury incurred during preseason, suffered the same injury on the opposite knee in her return in round one of season seven.
Throughout the session, in which the Lions did plenty of running, the midfielder moved confidently and appears on track for the season's start.
Bella Smith and recruit Jade Pregelj, both also on return from an ACL that kept them out last season, also looked comfortable. The latter is shaping for a key role down back this year with stalwart Kate Lutkins inactive due to pregnancy.
Pregelj's fellow former Suns teammate in Ellie Hampson worked off to the side as she recovers from surgery to clean up some cartilage in her knee, while rookie signing Courtney Murphy also worked largely on skills to get her footy touch back after years spent playing basketball at a high level.
Reigning Grand Final best on ground Shannon Campbell wasn't out on the track due to recent minor ankle surgery, but isn't expected to miss too much of the preseason program.
Draftee Poppy Boltz was the one to watch out on the track. Boltz, whose parents are former world champion long distance runners, was right in the mix during gruelling repeated running sessions, while the likes of Orla O'Dwyer and Sophie Conway led the pack.
Belle Dawes and Jade Ellenger, who despite being 22 and 23 years old, respectively, are now among the most experienced players at the club and have worked hard during the off-season to take their game to a new level.
Meanwhile reigning AFLW Best and Fairest winner Ally Anderson is in career-best shape. After shaving 30 seconds off her 2km time trial personal best, Anderson is a clear leader out on the training track.
