BRISBANE has moved exciting young forward Zimmorlei Farquharson to its inactive list for the 2023 season.
The Lions have confirmed that the decision is a mutual one between club and player, citing the elite demands of AFLW and training.
FROM 2017 TO NOW Where are your club’s inaugural players?
Farquharson burst onto the scene in her round three debut in season six early last year, kicking a goal from her 12 disposals, while also assisting in two others as her Lions recorded a 35-point win over Carlton.
As a result, she earned a Rising Star nomination and went on to play 10 of a possible 11 remaining games. She followed it up with the first seven games of last season before a finger injury forced her to the sidelines.
The Lions, already without leading goalkicker Jesse Wardlaw and All-Australian Greta Bodey this year after the pair moved to Victorian clubs, have another gap to fill in attack with Farquharson unavailable.
Brisbane now has three open list spots to fill, with Farquharson joining injured pair Luka Yoshida-Martin and Sharni Webb on the inactive list this season.
Kate Lutkins was also moved to the inactive list earlier this year due to pregnancy, but has since been replaced on the main list with former Gold Coast defender Jade Pregelj.
