BRISBANE made it two from two in the QW Winter Series, accounting for Gold Coast by 19 points in Mackay.
The two Queensland women's teams are playing off in a three-game series across winter to assist with the development of AFLW, QAFLW and top-ranked under-18 players.
The Lions defeated the Suns in their first match several weeks ago by 16 points.
A three-goal opening term burst set up the win for Brisbane, with Gold Coast connecting more effectively after half-time and hitting the scoreboard itself in the blustery conditions.
"Our senior players stood up and got the game on our terms early," Brisbane coach Craig Starcevich told lions.com.au.
"[Ally Anderson] didn't miss a beat, she's played the last couple of weeks in the VFLW (for Essendon)."
A Lion who last played for the club in 2017, Selina Priest (nee Goodman), starred for her side.
"Her run and carry of the footy and use of the ball by foot was fantastic," Starcevich said.
"She's probably spent a few years now trying to work out what her best role is."
Former Lion Sam Virgo was one of the Suns' best, starting forward but having more influence and control when swung back into her familiar defensive role.
Another ex-Lion, Kalinda Howarth, kicked one of the Suns' two goals, with former Crow Sally Riley slotting the other.
Experienced recruit Tiarna Ernst was one of Gold Coast's best, playing in defence after moving north from the Western Bulldogs due to work commitments.
Gold Coast coach David Lake said he used the match as an opportunity to continue to develop the club's list ahead of its entry to the AFLW in 2020.
As an expansion side, the Suns can continue to sign open-age players who are aligned to them through their academy until 30 August.
"I walk away from this with a little bit more information about where my list is going," Lake told the club's website.
"Some of that is bad for some people and some of that is good for some people, but that's why we play these games, to build our list and make sure we land in the right place come the end of October."
The third and final match of the QW Winter Series will be played on Saturday 13 July at the Gabba, before a representative side is selected to take on Western Australia at a later date.
