The AFL is pleased to confirm the availability of the following venues for the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final Season 7.
- If the Brisbane Lions win, they will secure a home Grand Final to be played at Brighton Homes Arena (Springfield Central Stadium, Ipswich).
- If Melbourne win and the Brisbane Lions lose, they will secure a home Grand Final to be played at Marvel Stadium (Docklands).
- If the Adelaide Crows win and North Melbourne defeat Melbourne, they will secure a home Grand Final at Hisense Stadium (Richmond Oval).
The 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final Season 7 will be held on Sunday November 27 at 2.40pm AEDT / 1.40pm AEST / 2.10pm ACDT.
The 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final Season 7 will be broadcast live on the Seven Network, FOX FOOTY, and Kayo. Matches will also be streamed live via womens.afl and the AFLW Official App.
Travis Auld, Executive General Manager Finance, Clubs and Broadcast, thanked everyone involved in the preparation of the three venues and said he was looking forward to the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final.
“On behalf of the AFL, I want to thank the Brisbane Lions and their staff for their remarkable effort in getting the turf at Brighton Homes Arena ready and thank the Queensland Government, Federal Government and Ipswich City Council for their support in developing the venue which will be an incredible asset for football in the state,” Auld said.
“After an independent turf inspection at the venue this week, the turf was deemed suitable to play, clearing the way for the Brisbane Lion’s state-of-the-art home base to host an AFLW Grand Final if Brisbane win.
“The AFL are working with the Brisbane Lions and a government-led task force to address all that needs to be prepared at Brighton Homes Arena. All hands are on deck to prepare the venue in time for an AFLW Grand Final, should the Brisbane Lions win on Friday night.
“I would also like to thank Hisense Stadium, West Adelaide FC, and the SANFL for the mountain of work that has gone into preparing their venue should the Adelaide Crows secure the right to host the Grand Final.
“I’d like to thank the host broadcaster, Seven Network, along with our other broadcast partners who have supported us across the AFLW season.”
Laura Kane, General Manager Competition Management, said the three venues would be “fantastic” hosts for the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final Season 7 and was looking forward to the remaining three games of Season Seven.
“Brighton Homes Arena, Marvel Stadium and Hisense Stadium will all be fantastic venues for the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final,” Kane said.
“After 90 home and away games and six finals this season, we’re down to the last three games. I can’t wait for this weekend’s Preliminary Finals and the Grand Final next Sunday.
“Good luck to the Adelaide Crows, the Brisbane Lions, Melbourne and North Melbourne this weekend!”
Ticketing information for the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final Season 7 will be released this weekend.
