BRISBANE captain Bre Koenen has a message for her team – don't be distracted by the chat around where the Grand Final could be played.

A win against Adelaide in Friday night's preliminary final would give the Lions the right to host the decider a week later, but with a lack of suitable venues in Queensland available, discussion rages over which ground would be fair to play at.

However, Koenen says that's a scenario her Brisbane teammates simply can't afford to worry about at the moment.

She says they need to remain laser-focused on playing three-time premiers the Crows.

"There's so much external noise about where we're going to play and who we're going to play," Koenen said.

"It's a lot of background noise and reminds me of that first season (when Brisbane had to host the Grand Final at Metricon rather than the Gabba) when there was so much going on around where we were playing.

"I think we're a lot better suited to it now, it's just one round at a time.

"It's so hard to make a Grand Final, let alone win one, so that's purely what we're focused on at the moment."

Brisbane is fresh from a week off after disposing of Richmond in the qualifying final and faces an Adelaide team that got past Collingwood in a dramatic semi-final.

The Lions hold a 5-3 head-to-head advantage over the Crows, but Matthew Clarke's team have the silverware, winning three flags to Brisbane's one.

"Finals come down to a matter of moments and I think it's going to be much the same this weekend," Koenen said.

"So we need to be really switched on and focused on the job at hand, and can't let all the outside chat about potential future games distract us.

"Wherever we play, whenever we play, it doesn't matter. If we get there, we'll give it our all, no matter what."
