SEASON seven saw a record number of Irish players listed in the AFLW, and that is only expected to grow in the coming years.

Plenty of Irishwomen have tried their hand at AFLW across the competition's seven seasons, but what kind of team would they make if we brought them all together?

As an added bonus to our hypothetical State of Origin series, we've put together an Irish All-Stars team, comprised of all the Irishwomen to make their mark on our game.

To be eligible for selection in this hypothetical team, the player must be a cross-coder from Ireland and have played at least one AFLW games.

AFLW State of Origin: Queensland and the Allies

Given the way Irish players have quickly settled into rebounding half-back roles, there is no surprise in the Irish All-Stars having a strong defence. The dash of Aileen GilroySinead Goldrick and Erika O'Shea is supported by the stopping power of Clara Fitzpatrick and Brid Stack

Blaithin MackinNiamh Kelly and Orla O'Dwyer offer that run higher up the field, while the physicality of Rachel Kearns and Vikki Wall is welcomed up forward.

Goldrick, Mackin and O'Dwyer are three of just four Irishwomen to earn a premiership medallion, with former Crow Ailish Considine the fourth, and the only one to be part of two Grand Final wins.

Aine Tighe's height offers plenty in the ruck, but in an ideal world would spend plenty of time in the forward line alongside the most experienced Irishwoman Cora Staunton and Saint Grace KellyJoanne Doonan's return to the AFLW after two seasons back in the VFLW sees her added.

At the start of their AFLW journey are Aine McDonaghAmy Mulholland and Orlagh Lally, but they showed enough in season seven to make it onto the bench, while Collingwood duo Sarah Rowe and Aishling Sheridan are obvious starters in the forward line and midfield, respectively.
