FREMANTLE defender Janelle Cuthbertson has informed the club she will take up an offer with one of the AFLW's expansion sides as a part of new priority signing period (PSP).

For the Dockers, it will be their sole casualty of the PSP - clubs that finished ninth-18th last season (Fremantle finished 12th) are only able to lose one player.

FROM NOVICE TO ALL-AUSTRALIAN Docker's wild rise

The former tennis player was drafted at pick No.81 in the 2019 AFLW Draft and played 24 games over four seasons.

"Janelle has been a great servant of the Fremantle Football Club," Fremantle AFLW boss Bob Murphy said.

"There's no doubt she's had a hard time with injuries in recent seasons and we understand her desire for a fresh start.

"While we’re sad to see her go, we wish Janelle well on and off the field."

The AFLW’s Priority Signing Period starts on Wednesday 1 March, and allows the League's expansion clubs - Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and Sydney - to sign players without trades.

NO PANIC Why teams aren't too worried about PSP

Those who have spent three seasons on AFLW lists are eligible to be signed under the PSP, with the Bombers able to sign two, three for the Hawks and Power and the Swans having the ability to add five.

The 14 remaining clubs have limits on the number of players they can lose via PSP.
