SOUTH AUSTRALIA
West Adelaide v Woodville-West Torrens
Port Adelaide mid Abbey Dowrick helped Woodville-West Torrens to its first win of the season with a game-high 29 disposals, five marks and five clearances. New Essendon signing Leah Cutting also contributed for the Eagles, winning the hitouts and laying eight tackles.
West Adelaide young gun and Port Adelaide academy member Lauren Young had 22 disposals, six marks and six tackles in the loss.
Norwood v Sturt
Norwood came from behind against Sturt to make it back-to-back wins with help from Port Adelaide-listed player Sachi Syme, who had a game high 26 disposals. Adelaide's Najwa Allen also helped the Redlegs over the line with her two goals from 11 disposals.
Central Districts v Glenelg
Glenelg held onto top spot with its defeat of Central Districts, new Crow Sarah Goodwin led the way with her 33 disposals, nine marks and six tackles.
Crows teammate Brooke Tonon also featured in the win with her 19 disposals and seven tackles.
South Adelaide v North Adelaide
South Adelaide bounced back after its loss in round four to defeat North Adelaide off the back of some strong performances by Port Adelaide-listed players Indy Tahau and Cheyenne Hammond. Tahau kicked a goal from 12 disposals and had 10 tackles while Hammond collected 15 disposals and had nine tackles.
Reigning AFLW Rising Star Hannah Ewings was the best for North Adelaide with her 22 disposals, eight tackles, nine inside 50s and goal in the loss.
VICTORIA
Carlton v Port Melbourne
Carlton started its VFLW season with a win over Port Melbourne with Christina Bernardi putting in a best-on-ground performance for the Blues. A Carlton AFLW train-on player in season seven, Bernadi kicked a goal from 22 touches and took five marks in the win. Paige Trudgeon also had a hand in the win with her 16 disposals and six marks.
For the Borough Kaitlyn O'Keefe had an impact with her 15 disposals, seven tackles and kicked a goal.
Darebin v Southern Saints
The Southern Saints were too good for Darebin in their round one match, with an even spread of contributors getting the job done for the Saints. Jemma Wrigley had a goal from her 19 disposals and Tessa Boyd impressed with 18 disposals and seven marks.
Retired AFLW Bulldog Angelica Gogos led all disposal getters with her 24 for Darebin in the loss.
Geelong v North Melbourne
North defeated Geelong for the first time in VFLW history to start its season with Marli Klaumanns-Moller and Marianna Anthony leading the way for the Roos.
Felicity Theodore was threatening for North kicking two goals from 14 disposals while Poppy Schaap was one of the Cats' best with her 18 disposals.
Collingwood v Williamstown
Collingwood had to come from behind at Victoria Park to steal the win from Williamstown in round one. SANFLW recruit Jess Bates had 25 disposals and nine tackles in her VFLW debut for Collingwood.
Former Carlton AFLW-listed player Sharnie Whiting led all disposals getters on the day with her 31.
Essendon v Hawthorn
Essendon and Hawthorn played out a thrilling draw at the Hangar after the reigning premiers were denied a winning shot on goal after Nicole Garner marked on the last line of defence.
Renee Tierney had an impact for the Bombers kicking a goal and collecting 21 disposals while former Geelong player Maddie Boyd kicked all three of the Hawks goals. Jordan Mifsud fought hard for the Hawks winning 23 disposals, nine clearances and laying 10 tackles.
Western Bulldogs v Casey Demons
Casey Demons kicked off its season with a win over the Western Bulldogs with Melbourne premiership player Sinead Goldrick one of the Demons best. The Irish talent kicked two goals from 21 disposals with fellow AFLW premiership player Shelley Heath also finishing with 23 disposals.
Bulldog Tahlia Meier was the highest-rated player of the game after her 28 disposals, eight marks and eight tackles in the loss.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Subiaco v East Fremantle
East Fremantle held on to defeat Subiaco by just six points in their round three match up. Fremantle’s Gabby O'Sullivan kicked a goal and had 14 disposals in the win while West Coast defender Beth Schilling had 14 touches of her own for Subiaco.
South Fremantle v West Perth
South Fremantle broke away in the final quarter to defeat West Perth with Bethany Bond the difference for the Bulldogs with her three goals for 17 disposals. Tahleah Mulder led the disposals for the Bulldogs with 23 and for West Perth it was Brooke Hongell who found plenty of the footy with 25 touches.
Swan Districts v Claremont
Claremont were too good for Swan Districts with new Swans signing Hayley Bullas featuring for Claremont. Bullas had 18 disposals and six tackles and was aided by Claire Ortlepp who had a game-high 25 disposals.
East Perth v Peel Thunder
Chloe Wrigley had an impressive 17 tackles in Peel Thunder's win over East Perth. Wrigley's defensive efforts also saw her collect 23 disposals while West Coast's Jaide Britton wasn't far behind with 17 of her own. Tanisha Anderson was dangerous inside 50 kicking three goals and for East Perth Makayla Pugliese-Thompson was in the best for her efforts.
