AFLW powerhouse Fremantle has retained 26 players ahead of the 2021 season, following another 11 players signing deals. 

Senior defenders Evie Gooch and Alex Williams and Irish ruck Aine Tighe are among the most recent re-signings. 

In good news, midfielder Ann McMahon – a police officer who tore her ACL in one leg and broke the other when a car hit her in a serious work incident – has also signed a new deal.

Irish forward Kate Flood is unable to return due to personal reasons.

"The club will work closely with the AFL to investigate what options there may be for Kate to return to the club in the future," Fremantle senior manager of football operations Joe Brierty said.

"We will continue to support Kate and she will stay connected with the club during this time."

Mia-Rae Clifford, Sarah Garstone and rookie Lindal Rohde have been delisted. Versatile veteran Clifford has now played 18 games for Melbourne, Geelong and Fremantle.

The Western Bulldogs have been able to re-sign all remaining 27 players, after three - Aisling McCarthy (West Coast), Hannah Munyard (Adelaide) and Nicole Callinan (retirement) - departed the club. American recruit Dani Marshall has been upgraded from the rookie list.

The final three spots on the Dogs' list will be filled by first-round draftees, a consequence of a very strong trade period.

St Kilda wrapped up its first re-signing period having made seven changes to its inaugural AFLW team. 

Former NAB AFLW Rising Star nominee Courteney Munn has chosen to join Emma Mackie in retirement, while Jess Sedunary (Adelaide) and Ali Drennan (Gold Coast) have moved clubs.

Sammie Johnson and Kelly O'Neill – who were signed from the club's VFLW team – have been delisted, as has veteran midfielder/defender Mel Kuys. 

The 32-year-old was unable to break through for a game at St Kilda, but played 15 for Collingwood over the first three years of the competition. 

Fellow expansion side Gold Coast will look heavily to the draft, delisting five players following the departures of Charlotte Hammans (Carlton) and Taylor Smith (Brisbane).

Former Crow Tayla Thorn (three games in 2020), tall Lexi Hamilton (one), Maddy Roberts, Georgia Breward and Kitara Whap-Farrar were not offered contracts for 2021.

Whap-Farrar is possibly the unluckiest of the group, having been an All-Australian under-18 defender who missed the 2020 season with a knee injury.

Forward Roberts has decided to now step away from football and focus on her career with NSW Fire & Rescue. 

Adelaide were another side to finalise their list, choosing not to offer contracts to young midfielder Jaimi Tabb and defender Nicole Campbell.

The Crows sewed up their re-signings with the sparky Danielle Ponter, Dayna Cox, Justine Mules, Nikki Gore and Najwa Allen.

Clubs can continue to re-sign players until Monday, while delisted free agents are able to find new home until next Friday.

The final order for the NAB AFLW Draft (set to be held in early October) will then be released.
