GOLD Coast has received special dispensation to add 17-year-old Darcie Davies to its primary list.

The Suns Academy forward/ruck is the younger sister of Sun Giselle and GWS ruck Fleur, with the youngest sibling Georja currently playing for Queensland in the U16 National Development Championships.

Davies was added as a post-draft signing after the Suns passed on their final selection, with Claire Ransom having been made inactive a few weeks ago.

DRAFT ANALYSIS What each selection means for your club

The AFL confirmed to womens.afl that Gold Coast was given discretionary approval by executive general manager of football Andrew Dillon, with Davies falling under the category of "Northern Academy Pre-Selection".

The 184cm talent will turn 18 in June, well before the AFLW season starting in late August, and is also a member of the AFLW Academy.

She is also a talented netballer, having captained Queensland at the U17 national championships, playing in defence.

Port Adelaide signed ruck Matilda Scholz as an underage player during the Priority Signing Period as part of its assistance package.

Like Davies, Scholz will be 18 by the season start and has finished high school.
