CARLTON has appointed Ash Naulty as its head of women's football on a full-time basis.

As revealed by womens.afl in February, Naulty had been hired to the role in an interim capacity following the departure of Brett Munro, who left following a full-scale review into the club's women's football program.

But, after a wide-ranging search that coincided with the club's hunt for an AFLW senior coach, it's understood Naulty was recently elevated into the head of women's football role permanently.

Naulty has held several different positions during his time at Ikon Park, including being the Carlton College of Sport football development and pathways coordinator as well as the club's player welfare and VFL coordinator.

He has held the role of women's football boss on an interim basis since February, where he helped guide the Blues through the League's most recent sign and trade period and supplementary draft.

Carlton hired its former VFL assistant Mathew Buck as its full-time senior AFLW coach back in April. He was appointed after the departure of Daniel Harford, who left following a disappointing 2-2-6 finish last year.
