Central District v Norwood

Central District will take on minor premier South Adelaide in the SANFLW Grand Final after beating Norwood by 40 points in their preliminary final.

The Bulldogs were too good for their opponents, setting up the win after dominating the second and third quarters.

The Bulldogs had plenty of contributors in the win but 17-year-old Jasmine Evans was dominant with her 16 disposals, eight marks and three goals. Caitlin Wendland was also impressive with her 14 touches, seven tackles and a goal. 

Shelby Smith found plenty of the football with her team-high 20 disposals while Charlotte Riggs provided one of the highlights of the season with her impressive mark.

For Norwood, Lana Schwerdt and Stephanie Simmonds worked hard to keep their side in the contest with 20 and 19 disposals, respectively. 

VFLW

Western Bulldogs v Port Melbourne

Port Melbourne overcame a slow start against the Western Bulldogs to hold on for a four-point win at ETU Stadium.

Kaitlyn O'Keefe returned to the Port Melbourne side and impressed with 18 disposals, six marks and four tackles. Jessie Williams was dangerous all over the ground with 13 disposals and two goals while Lauren Caruso was impressive in defence. 

Bulldogs star Dominique Carbone earned best-on-ground honours, excelling in the midfield kicking two goals and gathering 28 disposals and laying seven tackles. Sarah Skinner also found plenty of the football with her 20 touches and Jorja Borg impressed in the ruck. 

Carlton v Southern Saints

The Southern Saints moved a game clear at the top of the VFLW ladder with a six-point win over Carlton.

After sitting seventh on the ladder just a few weeks ago, the Saints have charged back up the ladder with four wins in a row thanks to the strong form of Gabrielle De Angelis who kicked three goals against the Blues. Michelle Podnecky and Lucy Burke also put in strong performances against Carlton.

Ashlee Thorneycroft impressed for the Blues with 21 disposals, eight tackles and goal in the loss while Ally Bild wasn't far behind with 22 disposals.

Box Hill Hawks v Williamstown 

Williamstown kept its finals chances alive with a three-point win against an inaccurate Box Hill Hawks side.

Williamstown had to fight its way back into the game in the second half with Jasmine Kawa's work in the ruck a standout, finishing with 16 disposals, 16 hitouts, eight clearances and a goal. Emily Eaves was a standout around the football, with two crucial goals coming from Sharnie Whiting. 

Jordan Mifsud and Grace McRae again teamed up in the Hawks midfield with the two gathering 15 and 19 touches respectively and Mifsud laying 16 tackles.

Geelong v Casey Demons

Geelong suffered its second upset loss in a row, losing top spot in the process, going down to the Casey Demons by 21 points in Geelong. 

Belinda Woolcock was again important for the Demons gathering 18 disposals with Shree Fairchild and Shannon Danckert playing an important role in the midfield. 

Geelong's Abby Favell put in a big performance to keep her side in the game finishing with 27 disposals, six marks, nine tackles and seven clearances. 

Darebin v Collingwood

Collingwood got back on the winners list with a big win over Darebin at Genis Steel Oval.

Jess Bates starred with a performance rarely seen in the VFLW, Bates finished with 38 disposals, eight tackles, 11 clearances and two goals. Caitlin Bunker also impressed as did Nyakoat Dojiok with her four goals. 

Angelica Gogos continues her strong season at the Falcons, finishing with 25 disposals and 10 tackles in the loss. 

Essendon v North Melbourne

North Melbourne kept its slim finals hopes alive with a big upset win over Essendon at the NEC Hangar. 

The victory came off the back of performances from Jess Jones who had 14 disposals, eight tackles and 25 hitouts and Marli Klaumanns-Moller who had 17 disposals and 10 tackles of her own. Two goals for Madisen Maguire were also crucial for North. 

Grace Dicker and Sophie Molan were important for the Bombers with Dicker applying plenty of pressure with her 19 disposals and Molan with an all-round performance that included 19 disposals, five tackles and five clearances.

WAFLW

West Perth v East Perth 

Two crucial goals in the third quarter were the difference for West Perth in its 16-point win over rivals East Perth. 

Taylor Ferguson found plenty of the footy for West Perth finishing with 27 disposals and eight tackles in the win, while Grace Betti also impressed with her 16 disposals, four tackles and a goal.

For East Perth it was Chloe Sauzier with her 19 touches and five tackles that impressed for the Royals alongside Mahli Turland’s efforts.

East Fremantle v South Fremantle 

East Fremantle kept South Fremantle goalless and handed the Bulldogs just their third loss of the season in the Fremantle derby.

WA draft prospect Zipporah Fish had a breakout game with a game-high 23 disposals, four tackles and five inside 50s. She was well supported by Laura Catherine and Ashleigh Gomes in the win. 

For South Fremantle it was Kloe Bassett and Ariana Hetherington who fought hard to keep their side in the match.

Claremont, Peel Thunder, Swan Districts and Subiaco all had a bye round for the last round of WAFLW.

QAFLW

Southport v University of Queensland

Southport kept its unbeaten season alive following the bye with an impressive 49-point win over University of Queensland.

For Southport it was Jess Maher and Leigh Alder who were instrumental in the win finding themselves in the best for their efforts. Stephanie O’Brien was the only multiple goalkicker with her two and was in the votes as well.

It was a tough day out for the goalless University of Queensland side but Ava Seton and Jane Childes battled hard all game.

Aspley v Coorparoo

Aspley now sits in second on the ladder after it enjoyed a 53-point win over Coorparoo at home.

Aspley’s win came off the back of the efforts of Jamie Bryan and Hannah Giles who were named in the best players in the win.

Bonnie Farrell was important for Cooparoo, as was teammate Ayla Fraser for her efforts in the loss. 

Bond University v Maroochydore 

After being separated by just four points at half-time, Bond University was able to break away from Maroochydore to come away with a 19-point win.

It was in the second half where Bond University was able wrestle control of the game back through the efforts of Paris Lightfoot and Courtney Sexton, while multiple goals from Jasmyn Davidson gave Bond the ascendancy. 

It was Imagen David and Jya Epstein who worked to keep Maroochydore in it after the tight first half. 

Wilston Grange v Yeronga South Brisbane

Wilston Grange returned from the bye to keep its momentum going and make it three wins in a row with a 33-point victory over Yeronga South Brisbane.

Kalista-Jayne Shiner stood up for Wilston Grange in the win, as did vice-captain Mackenzie Findlay who was also in the best for her game. 

For Yeronga South Brisbane it was Kara Stock and Lucy Bellinger amongst the votes for their efforts in the loss.
