CARLTON stamped its premiership credentials, North Melbourne officially qualified for finals, while on the flip side of the coin, Richmond recorded the League's lowest ever score.

GEELONG 3.2 (20) defeated by NORTH MELBOURNE 10.6 (66)

• What a horror night for Geelong. After jumping out to a surprise three-goal lead on the back of some fierce pressure, the Cats (coming off a trip to Mackay) lost all momentum when young star Nina Morrison ruptured her recently reconstructed ACL.
• An uncharacteristically edgy start from North Melbourne, who were caught somewhat off guard by Geelong's attack on the footy. The Roos eventually settled in outstanding fashion, booting 10 goals straight. Jasmine Garner's claim on the AFLW best and fairest grows stronger by the week.

BRISBANE 2.2 (14) defeated by COLLINGWOOD 5.13 (43)

• It was a listless Lions side coming off a six-day break from Perth which took to the field against the Magpies, and they've now lost two games in a row. Aside from a third-quarter rally, they were beaten on the inside and the outside, with uncontested marks (27 to 47) a telling statistic.
• Collingwood is outside the top three of Conference B by percentage, and it showed in its hunger for the contest against Brisbane. Led by Britt Bonnici – the tagger unleashed from her defensive duties – the Pies were outstanding throughout, but inaccurate kicking cost them a valuable percentage boost.

ST KILDA 6.6 (42) defeated RICHMOND 0.3 (3)

• St Kilda had set itself for this game, the club eager to get one over its high-profile fellow expansion side. Small midfielder Rosie Dillon has grown with confidence as the season has progressed, while Caitlin Greiser feasted on an inexperienced Richmond defence.
• It's safe to say any time you fail to kick a goal, it's been a bad day at the office. The Tigers struggled to get any outside run at all, beaten in uncontested possessions 102-57 and marks 40-17. Mon Conti tried her heart out, leaving the ground in tears of frustration after the final siren.

MELBOURNE 3.6 (24) defeated by CARLTON 6.4 (40)

• With Collingwood lurking outside the top three, this loss could prove very costly for Melbourne. The Dees were up by eight points at half-time but given their inside-50 dominance at that point (15-8) should have been further ahead. Karen Paxman was once again Melbourne's best.
• What a win for the Bluebaggers. The team handled the tricky Alice Springs conditions well, and didn't panic after going into half-time eight points adrift. Maddy Prespakis was her excellent best, while Tayla Harris left her mark on the game both on the scoreboard and assisting teammates.

WESTERN BULLDOGS 8.3 (51) defeated by FREMANTLE 10.6 (66)

• The pups can play. It was a stunning loss from the Western Bulldogs, if such thing exists. The club had remained upbeat throughout a winless month, backing in their young stars to develop, and we saw that on Sunday. Key forward Nell Morris-Dalton was lively on debut, Izzy Huntington and Eleanor Brown worked well in defence and Elisabeth Georgostathis locked down Sabreena Duffy.
• Fremantle would be concerned about conceding eight goals to a side who has only won one game for the year, but the fourth-quarter fightback was one to be pleased about. Ebony Antonio moved well at both ends of the ground, while Ashley Sharp kicked three in a hard-running performance.

ADELAIDE 3.3 (21) defeated by GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY 4.2 (26)

• And just like that, the premiership defence is all but done. A rejigged forward line saw Marijana Rajcic in unfamiliar territory, while Courtney Gum was handy in attack. The midfield wasn't as effective as in recent weeks, and too many players were under-par.
• Is this the most significant win in GWS' AFLW history? The normally stoic Cora Staunton let out a bellow on the final siren as the Giants all but assured themselves of a maiden finals berth. They whipped the Crows in their outside game, demonstrated by the final handball count (95-44).

WEST COAST 1.2 (8) defeated by GOLD COAST 5.3 (33)

• It's been a long season for West Coast. The Eagles only had two points to their name by three-quarter time, with Hayley Bullas finally hitting the scoreboard in the final term. In a positive sign, they were able to win the clearances and inside 50s, but were just lacking the final polish.
• Gold Coast's unlikely outside push towards a finals berth continued with this win. The Suns will need results to go their way, but with the dangerous Kalinda Howarth (four goals) continuing to develop, and Jade Pregelj and Lauren Ahrens anchoring the backline, they'll push all the way to the finish line.
