A VIDEO of a local football team in Queensland singing - and signing - the club song has gone viral and warmed the hearts of sporting identities and celebrities.
The Yeronga Devils surprised their hearing-impaired teammate Jamie Howell over the weekend by belting out their song with an Auslan rendition.
"I was absolutely shocked, I was overwhelmed," Howell told Channel Nine.
Howell's teammates taught themselves how to sign over video chats spanning the course of two weeks.
"It's easy enough to do it slowly, but to the tempo of the song took a bit of work," Howell's teammate and Gold Coast co-captain Sam Virgo said.
Howell wears a helmet to protect the implant inside her head, and her Devils teammates have started using sign language to communicate with her on the field.
The post has been shared by plenty of big names including comedian Adam Hills and wheelchair tennis champion Dylan Alcott.
