COMING into the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft, there were three players considered in contention for the No.1 pick.

While Gabby Newton was eventually taken by the Western Bulldogs, Lucy McEvoy has been nominated by the players as likely to take out the NAB AFLW Rising Star.

And in womens.afl's coaches' survey, the people in charge have chosen the third, Georgia Patrikios, for Rising Star accolades.

The silky St Kilda midfielder is expected to catch the eye with her elusiveness and elite disposal.

"Georgia Patrikios is a superstar. Her ball use is elite, and her decision-making is really good," one coach said.

"She might get beaten on the inside of the contest a few times, because she's only slight, but her ball use is freakish."

Newton and McEvoy, predictably, round out the placings for the top three.

Draftees Maggie Gorham (GWS) and Roxy Roux (Fremantle) got nods, while second-year duo Nat Grider and Tyla Hanks also received votes.

The latter pair are still eligible to win, as they were under 21 at the start of the year and have not yet received official Rising Star nominations.

*Purcell is ineligible, having previously been nominated. She finished third in 2019's count.
