WITH the NAB AFLW home and away season coming to an abrupt end due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the womens.afl player of the year has been crowned.

And it's not one, but three players taking bragging rights, with North Melbourne's Jasmine Garner, Melbourne's Karen Paxman and Carlton's Maddy Prespakis finishing equal first.

At the end of every game, the womens.afl reporter assigned to cover the match awards their 3-2-1 votes, with the results then compiled.

Three-vote performances from Garner and Prespakis in round six saw them jump into equal first, after Paxman received two for her efforts against Carlton.
