GOLD Coast Academy has hung on in a thriller to beat Brisbane Academy by just one point in the final NAB AFLW All-Stars match.
Both sides traded periods of dominance, with the Suns booting four first-quarter goals and the Lions adding their own quartet in the third, but Lily Tarlinton's second major proved to be the difference in the 6.9 (45) to 6.8 (44) win at Bond University.

The NAB AFLW Academy member starred at both ends of the ground, her athleticism and reading of the play was instrumental in the Suns' powerful opening stanza, but her day ended in the dying minutes of the game when she injured her right leg in a marking contest.
Sun Lucy Single is another pushing for selection in the upcoming draft, and showed her wares with a strong attack on the footy and an ability to burst away from contests.
Twin talls Tarlinton and Jasmyn Davidson dominated the aerial contests in the Suns' forward line, while the thumping boot of Lion Christine Okesene was employed over and over again to clear danger.
