KATIE Brennan's wretched injury run in the AFLW has continued with the Richmond skipper expected to miss the remainder of the season with concussion

Brennan was bumped high by Geelong's Jordan Ivey two weeks ago (which led to a one-week suspension for the Cat) and has not played since.

The 27-year-old has definitely been ruled out of Friday night's clash with Brisbane, and is highly likely to also miss next weekend's game against Adelaide.

"Given the known risks of playing sports with concussion, club medical staff are maintaining a best practice approach to recovery that prioritises Katie’s health and wellbeing," Richmond AFLW club doctor Carlee van Dyk said.

Brennan has played 17 of a possible 28 matches, mostly sidelined with ankle injuries.

Melbourne has suffered its fifth torn ACL for the season, with scans confirming Sarah Lampard will be sidelined for quite some time.

The defender injured her left knee in the third term, and has previously needed a reconstruction on her right knee.

In more positive news, Sinead Goldrick has not seriously injured her quad, with scans showing the Irishwoman has suffered a corky. She will be managed this week.

Young Brisbane defender Gabby Collingwood is the 16th player to suffer a torn ACL since the start of pre-season, having suffered the injury to her left knee two weeks ago while playing for QAFLW side Yeronga Devils.

Carlton defender Jayde Van Dyk is available for selection after injuring her ankle in the warm-up of round one. She manage to play out that win over Richmond, but has not been seen at AFLW level since.

GWS has had two wins on the trot without injured skipper Alicia Eva, who will need to pass a test this week to prove she has overcome her foot injury.

Adelaide's Sophie Li injured the joint between her collarbone and sternum in the dying minutes of the Crows' loss to GWS.

It has been diagnosed as a sprain, and she could miss anywhere from two to six weeks.

Courtney Cramey has missed the past three weeks with a calf injury, and will need to get through training this week to be any chance to take on Gold Coast this weekend.

West Coast key forward Grace Kelly has avoided a dreaded torn ACL, but has injured her medial ligament in her knee.

"Scans have confirmed that Grace suffered a grade three MCL injury," West Coast head of women's footy Adam Selwood said.

"Fortunately her ACL is intact, which is great news. She is facing a prolonged recovery, but one that is over a matter of weeks rather than a 9-12 month turnaround.

"We will do everything possible to support Grace during her rehabilitation before she returns to Ireland."
