GEELONG put an emphatic end to Melbourne's premiership defence, while Adelaide made short work of Sydney in the second week of the AFLW finals.

The Crows showed why they perennially feature at the pointy end of the season, ending the Swans' dream run with a 67-point shellacking to win through to yet another preliminary final. 

The Cats meant business from the opening ball-up, but the Dees stormed home to fall just five points short.
