The 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls begins this weekend, with the Allies taking on Victoria Metro at Blacktown International Sportspark in the opening game on Saturday, June 29.

The Championships will showcase the most talented under 18 girls footballers from across Australia, with matches to be played across the country over the next two months.

The Championships will feature six teams – Queensland, South Australia, Victoria Country, Victoria Metro, Western Australia and the Allies, comprising players from Tasmania, Northern Territory and NSW/ACT. Each team will play three matches.

The team that finishes atop the standings at the conclusion of the round-robin tournament will be crowned the title winner.

If two teams finish equal on points atop the ladder, the title will be awarded to the team that won the round-robin match between those two teams. If more than two teams finish equal on points atop the ladder, the title will be awarded to the team with the highest percentage.

South Australia are the reigning title holders after going through the 2023 Championships undefeated.

At the conclusion of the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls each team will select their MVP.

The competition best and fairest award and the All Australian team will be selected by a panel comprising AFL Talent Pathways staff and AFLW recruiters.

The commencement of the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Girls follows last week’s announcement that the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft will transition to a fully national model, with all nominees available to be selected by any of the 18 clubs.
