North Melbourne's Jasmine Garner and Adelaide's Ebony Marinoff have been recognised as captain and vice-captain respectively of the 2024 AFLW All Australian side.

The team of the year was named at a function in Melbourne tonight with Garner and Marinoff elevated to rarefied air with their seventh All Australian team selection at tonight's W Awards.

The two midfielders join Emma Kearney as the only other AFLW player to be named in seven or more All Australian teams.

12 players received their maiden All Australian blazer and eight retained their spot in the side from the 21 picked in 2023.

Three Irish players – Aisling McCarthy, Aishling Moloney, and Aileen Gilroy – were named in the team, joining Orla O'Dwyer (2022 Season 6) and Niamh Kelly (2023) as the five Irish players to have been selected in the All Australian team throughout the competition's history.

Garner becomes a two-time All Australian Captain after she was awarded the honour in 2022 Season 7, while Marinoff's first season as co-captain at the Crows has seen her recognised with the vice captaincy.

West Coast Eagles young gun Ella Roberts, who turns 20 next month, was the youngest player named in the team.

Reigning premiers the Brisbane Lions and the Adelaide Crows led clubs with the most players selected in the team with four each, followed by North Melbourne and Fremantle with three.

Club representation: Adelaide Crows (4), Brisbane Lions (4), Essendon (1), Fremantle (3), Geelong Cats (1), Gold Coast SUNS (1), Hawthorn (2), North Melbourne (3), Sydney Swans (1) and West Coast Eagles (1)
