A CLASH of the heavyweights headlines round three of the NAB AFLW season, with premiership favourites Adelaide and Fremantle to play at Norwood Oval on Sunday.

One of Collingwood and ladder leader Brisbane will taste defeat for the first time this year when the two meet at Hickey Park in Queensland on Sunday.

And in another mouth-watering battle, second-placed North Melbourne will be out to avenge its two-point defeat from last season when it takes on fourth-placed Melbourne at Casey Fields on Saturday night.

At the other end of the table, battlers Richmond and West Coast will face off at the Swinburne Centre.

If the Tigers triumph, it will be their first ever win, or if the Eagles emerge victorious, they will sing their song for the second time.

It marks the first time a West Australian team has played in Victoria this season, given the ongoing changing borders due to COVID-19.

Western Bulldogs' Jess Fitzgerald and Melbourne's Tyla Hanks have been named the NAB AFLW Rising Stars for round two

The high-scoring Western Bulldogs are owning the Friday night lights, fixtured there for a third successive week, this time against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

The AFL has advised that as it stands, crowds will be allowed at all matches this round.

Tickets for Friday night's game will go on sale for Cats members at 12pm AEDT on Thursday, and open to the general public an hour later.

Tickets to all other matches will go on sale at 10am local time on Friday for home members, with the general public able to buy from 11am.

GWS and Gold Coast will be hoping for their first wins of the season when they meet at Blacktown, while Carlton will be aiming to break its duck against St Kilda.

"These continue to be unprecedented times and the fixture this year will continue to respond to and reflect the situation across the country," AFL head of women's footy Nicole Livingstone said.

"We will continue to remain adaptable as we listen to and work closely with each stakeholder to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone in the game.

"While COVID-19 continues to impact the community, the health and welfare of our players and the community remains the priority and we remain committed to delivering a full season in a safe manner anchored in the advice of respective governments, public health officials and medical experts."
