Club: Brisbane
Coach: Craig Starcevich
2020 captain: Emma Zielke
2020 best and fairest: Emily Bates
2020 in a nutshell: Started like a house on fire with three wins and a draw in the first month. Things went downhill from there though, with big losses against Fremantle and Collingwood forcing the Lions into an away semi-final against Carlton, which they lost heavily after a spirited first three quarters. Still, a solid season for a very young team.
New players: Taylor Smith (Gold Coast), Courtney Hodder, Zimmorlei Farquharson, Ruby Svarc, Indy Tahau, Beth Pinchin

2021 FIXTURE Blues, Magpies return to kick off new-look season
Circle it: The Lions will play at the Gabba for the first time in history in round eight when they host the Magpies.
Player to watch: Courtney Hodder was a junior sensation in Western Australia before successfully switching to rugby. She's back with footy now and is lightning quick with great evasion and should add real spark to Brisbane's forward half.
Best Rising Star chance: Isabel Dawes
2021 prediction: Still very young in most parts of the ground, the Lions have finally got some continuity with their smallest list turnover since the AFLW started. They've added speed, which should help, but will be keen to unearth some more proven midfielders. They'll be around the finals mark again.
