WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Swan Districts remain the only undefeated team in the WAFLW with its 33-point win over Claremont. Subiaco got itself back on the winners list with a dominant 72-point win over South Fremantle and Peel Thunder continued their winning run overcoming East Fremantle at home by 40 points.

AFLW-listed players

Fremantle pair Mikayla Morrison and Mikayla Hyde were on fire for Swans Districts. Morrison took her goal tally to 10 from four games while Hyde had a best-on-ground performance.  

Tarnee Tester returned for Subiaco and made an instant impact with her three goals in their win.  

Evie Gooch is still pushing for a return in Freo’s line-up after another strong performance for the Sharks.  

And Katie-Jayne Grieve returned for Peel Thunder and played a big role in the Thunderbirds win. 

State league players 

Former AFLW listed player Emily McGuire played her best game for Swan Districts and Katherine Bennet was the best for Claremont.  

Hunter Cronin provided South Fremantle with their only goal of the day and Kiera Templeton pushed hard in the midfield for the Bulldogs.  

Kia Buckley was best on for Subiaco in their big win over South Fremantle.

Another former AFLW listed player, Kate Bartlett, continues to shine in the WAFLW taking her season tally to 17 goals with her two goals in Peel Thunder’s win. Teammate Ebony Bilcich was in instrumental for the Thunderbirds in their win.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Tayla Thorn kicked a point in the final quarter to force a draw between South Adelaide and North Adelaide. Woodville-West Torrens ran away four-point winners in a close encounter with Sturt. A five-goal third term was the catalyst for Central Districts’ 22-point win over West Adelaide. Norwood just hung on for a two-point win in a thriller against Glenelg. 

AFLW-listed players

Montana McKinnon was again dominant in the ruck for the Panthers leading disposals with 25 to go with her eight marks.  

Crows pair Jess Sedunary and Renee Forth played big roles in the Eagles' close win over Sturt. Sedunary was again best on ground with her 21 disposals and two goals while Forth was everywhere with her 12 disposals.

Ailish Considine was best on for West Adelaide in her return picking up 17 disposals, two goals and six clearances in the loss against Central Districts.

State league players 

Former Crow Nicole Campbell wasn’t too far behind Panthers teammate Montanna McKinnon with her 24 disposals and five clearances.

Lauren Daniel kept North Adelaide in the game with her 21 disposals and five clearances.  

Experience midfielder Alisha Gepp amassed a career-high 35 disposals and Izzy Kuiper had 14 tackles to go with her 14 disposals for Sturt in their loss. 

Former Carlton player Sharnie Whiting also kicked two goals for West Adelaide while Chantel Reynolds kicked three goals to go with her 17 disposals and five marks for Central Districts.  

Leah Cutting continues her fine form, dominating all around the ground for Norwood with 14 disposals, 15 tackles, 35 hitouts and two marks.

Jessica Bates piled on the pressure for Glenelg with her 16 tackles she was well supported by teammate Milli Gente who had 15 disposals and five tackles. 

QUEENSLAND

Coloongatta Tweed got its first win of the season with a 35-point win over the University of Queensland. Bond University remain the only team undefeated with a big win over Aspley. Cooparoo handed Wilston Grange their fifth straight loss of the season and Maroochydore upset the reigning premiers Yeronga South Brisbane by five points. 

AFLW-listed players 

Experienced Lion Selina Priest picked up the votes for Coolangatta while the Suns Janet Baird was lively in the drought-breaking win. 

Suns pair Jordann Hickey and Molly Ritson played a role in keeping Bond University undefeated with Hickey hitting the scoreboard.  

The Lions' Ruby Svarc kicked a goal and returned to the best for Wilston Grange in their tough loss.  

Jessy Keefe kicked a goal to keep Yeronga in the game and Jordan Zanchetta worked tirelessly in the midfield.  

State league players 

Halle Priest was in the best for University of Queensland while former Sun Kitarra Farrar kicked three goals for Coolangatta.

Mikayla Pauga and Lily Tarlington were instrumental for Bond University combining for five goals in their team’s win. 

Kaitlyn Day was the best player for Grange in the loss to Cooparoo. Cooparoo pair Brooke Spence and Macie Brown were two of seven individual goalkickers but also picked up the votes.

Maroochydore pair Emma and Brooke Day hit the scoreboard to keep the Roos in the game and Brianna McFarlane in the best. Adrienne Keefe kicked two goals for Yeronga in the tight match.

VICTORIA 

Collingwood and Port Melbourne remain the only undefeated teams defeating Casey Demons and Essendon respectively. The Southern Saints returned to the winners list with a convincing win over Darebin by 60 points. Carlton held off Hawthorn to come out 30-point winners. The Western Bulldogs disappointing season continued, held goalless by Geelong in a 34-point loss. North Melbourne held on by four points in a tight contest against Williamstown.

AFLW-listed players 

Kristy Stratton played her best game of the season for Collingwood after being dropped the previous week. Stratton finished with three goals, 22 disposals and five marks.

Abbey Green also successfully returned from injury and Amelia Velardo competed hard for her 11 disposals.  

Melbourne 2020 draftee Megan Fitzsimon had her best showing for the club with her 20 disposals and 11 tackles for Casey.  

Tamara Luke and Nadia von Bertouch played a role in the Saints' first victory in three weeks. Luke had 24 disposals and von Bertouch finished with 13 disposals and five marks.  

Carlton trio Courtney Jones, Serena Gibbs and Paige Trudgeon were all instrumental in the Blues win with Jones finishing best on ground with her four goals.  

Steph Williams continued to find form with her two goals from nine disposals while Bailey Hunt for the Bulldogs led all disposals getters with 26. Danielle Marshall returned for the Dogs and had 17 disposals, six tackles and tried her best to hit the scoreboard. 

Richmond pair Emily Harley and Cleo Saxon-Jones both kicked two goals and were in the best for affiliate Port Melbourne in their win over the Bombers. 

Tahni Nestor was instrumental for North Melbourne in their close win as was Georgia Hammond in the forward line.  

State league players 

Imogen Milford had a best on ground performance for Casey in their loss to the Pies, kicking three goals from her 12 disposals, teammate Shree Fairchild applied plenty of pressure with her 15 tackles.  

The Pies were well serviced by midfield Jennifer Guy who had 26 disposals and seven tackles.

Tara Bonhana was dominant all over the ground for the Saints picking up 22 disposals, eight marks and two goals in her teams win. For the Falcons Samara David was in everything amassing 17 disposals, seven marks and 10 tackles. 

Carlton’s Bryannen Gur and Teresa Zampaglione returned to the best to get the Blues over the line. The Hawks’ Katie Angelis’ two goals kept them in the game and Jenna Richardson was instrumental in the midfield.  

Claudia Gunjaca was clunking everything for the Cats picking up nine marks (four contested) in the forward line finishing with a goal from her 19 disposals. Tamara Smith continued to her strong form with 15 disposals and a massive 16 tackles.  

Nicole McMahon battled in the ruck for the Dogs all game while Eliza Vale showed some nice run on the wing.

Georgia Nanscawen is stringing together a brilliant individual season with another strong performance for the Bombers. Pip Peshcke was instrumental for Port Melbourne through the midfield.

Former Blue Reni Hicks returned to the VFLW with North Melbourne and starred, teammate and captain Meagan Kiely was also impressive and kicked the sealer for the Roos.
