DAISY Pearce's last-ditch attempt to prove her fitness before Saturday's preliminary final lasted around 45 minutes on Gosch's Paddock on Thursday night.

Pearce, who damaged her MCL two weeks ago, did not participate in any drills with the main group aside from a low-intensity kicking warm-up.

Completing a variety of ground-ball, marking and handball drills with an assistant coach and physio – and Lauren Pearce, who is usually on a modified training load due to her history of knee injuries – Pearce kicked cleanly with the affected leg.

But she looks highly unlikely to take to the field against the Crows, with her only contact work limited to a bump bag when picking up ground balls, and pushing off against an assistant coach while marking.

A sore Shelley Scott with a compression bandage around her knee also completed limited training, but is expected to be fine for Saturday.

Hamstrung pair Krstel Petrevski and Sinead Goldrick – who are ruled out for the season – walked laps, while Shae Sloane participated as a coach as she recuperates from a third torn ACL.

The night prior, Collingwood took to the track for its final Melbourne-based training session before flying to Brisbane on Friday.

Star rebounder Ruby Schleicher left the track early after receiving treatment on a tight calf, but will be right to take on the Lions.

Sophie Casey trained strongly after missing last week with concussion and newly minted key position player Ash Brazill appeared to be working with the forwards, rather than defenders.

Lauren Butler ran laps and did some work jogging over mini-hurdles as she attempts what would be a shock comeback from a torn hamstring suffered in round seven.

The defender is not available this week but is a chance for the Grand Final should the Pies qualify.
