FROM sending letters to the AFL CEO in primary school to coming equal-first in the AFLW best and fairest count – the football world has flipped on its head in Brianna Davey's lifetime.
Both Davey and co-winner Kiara Bowers joined Credit to the Girls the day after their big wins, Bowers jumping on the pod at 5:30am Perth time before going off to work as a carpenter.
Davey discussed the letter she sent to Andrew Demetriou on the show.
"I believe I was in year two or three, and we had to write a persuasive essay. Straight away I knew who I wanted to write to, and it was Andrew Demetriou," Davey said.
"I basically told him how it was. 'That's it, women need to be playing AFL, end of story'.
"It probably got us over the line to where we are now. I think the letter pushed through 2017, that's how we got there," she said with a laugh.

Davey doesn't know for sure, but is fairly confident the letter was actually sent off to the AFL.
"My teacher read it over and fixed the spelling errors and stuff like that, and off it went," she said.
"I don't know if it reached where it needed to get to, but I remember it fondly.
"I remember posting it (on Instagram) in 2017 when I first got drafted, because this was a young girl who didn't know if it was possible, hoped it would be possible, and now I'm able to live that dream."
