WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Claremont held South Fremantle goalless in a dominant 47-point win at home and Peel Thunder got its second win in a row with a 20-point win over Subiaco. 

AFLW-Listed Players  

Kate Orme continued her good form for Claremont kicking a goal and featuring in the best for her performance in the Tigers' win.

Katie-Jayne Grieve played a role for Peel Thunder through the midfield while Fremantle teammate Tarnee Tester was lively up forward hitting the scoreboard for Subiaco.

State League Players

Claremont’s Ella Smith claimed a best-on-ground performance with her two-goal performance against South Fremantle. Tessa Doumanis also featured for the Tigers in the win kicking two goals and getting amongst the votes.

South Fremantle were held goalless but Lara Rodin-Zimdahl made plenty of opportunities for the Bulldogs inside 50.

Kate Bartlett was back kicking goals for Peel Thunder combining with Kira Phillips for five of the Thunderbirds six goals. Kia Buckley kept Subiaco in the game with her two goals.

Nell Baxter and Caitlin Walker were influential all over the ground for the respective sides in the clash between Peel and Subiaco.

QUEENSLAND 

Bond University remain the only undefeated team in the QAFLW after a 52-point win over Yeronga South Brisbane. Cooparoo jumped to third on the ladder with its 41-point win over Coolangatta Tweed. Aspley were dominated by University of Queensland by 61 points at home, while Maroochydore made it three in a row with a big win over Wilston Grange.

AFLW-Listed Players

Jessy Keefe featured through the middle providing a presence in the ruck for Yeronga in the loss to Bond University.

Suns Jordann Hickey and Molly Ritson hit the scoreboard and were influential for Bond University in their big win.

State League Players

Mikayla Pauga continued her fine form for Bond University kicking four goals and featuring in the best. Elle Herron was in the best for Bond for her tireless work all over the ground in the win.

Julia Wardle was the sole goalkicker for Yeronga while Lily Bougoure featured in the votes for her work in tough conditions.

Gabriella Abi-Fares and Macie Brown both kicked three goals for Cooparoo and were well serviced inside 50 by Janae Govan.

Kicking a bag in a best-on-ground performance for University of Queensland was Grace Brennan. Teammate Stephanie O’Brien was in the votes in University’s win.

For Aspley Lucy Penally was the sole kicker while Hayley Moore was the best for the Hornets.

Brianna McFarlane was best on for Maroochydore with her four-goal performance, joined by teammate Chloe Gregory in the best in the Roos' big win.

Kaitlyn Day was in the best for Grange and Sophie Wheeler hit the scoreboard, kicking two goals for the Gorillas.

VICTORIA

Essendon kicked three goals to none in the final quarter to over Hawthorn by 13 points at Box Hill City Oval. The Southern Saints put in a strong four-quarter performance to come away 10-point winners over Williamstown. Darebin upset North Melbourne at home to claim their first win of the season. Port Melbourne and Collingwood remain the only two undefeated teams in the VFLW with the respective wins over Western Bulldogs and Carlton, while Geelong held off the fast-finishing Casey Demons to keep its winning streak alive with the two-point victory.

AFLW-Listed Players

Jaqui Vogt returned for the Souther Saints and was in the best in their triumph over Williamstown with her 17 disposals and 11 tackles. Alice Burke and Poppy Kelly also featured for the Saints making an impact in the middle of the ground.

Katelyn Cox may have run out of time for a debut with North Melbourne’s AFLW side but played her best to keep the Roos in the game in their loss to the Falcons.

Sabrina Frederick made her first appearance for Richmond affiliate Port Melbourne and made an instant impact on the scoreboard with her two goals. Richmond teammate Sarah Sansonetti also played a role in defence with her 15 disposals and five marks.

For the Bulldogs Isabella Grant and Annabel Scott found plenty of the footy for the Dogs with their 15 and 20 disposals against Port Melbourne.

Isabella Simmons had two crucial goals for the Casey Demons in the tight game against the Cats. Fellow 2020 Melbourne draftee Megan Fitzsimon was influential as well in the middle with her 16 touches and nine tackles for the Demons.

Young Cat Carly Remmos had a near best-on-ground performance for Geelong with her influence all over the ground including an important goal. Darcy Moloney was also in the best for her 16 disposals and nine tackles in the close win.

Amelia Velardo shone for Collingwood rebounding out of defence in the dominant win over the Blues. While Maddie Guerin was the best performer for the Blues in a tough outing.

State League Players

The recently delisted trio of Nadia von Bertouch, Tamara Luke and Nicole Garner made an instant impact for their first games for the Hawks with all three featuring in the Hawks' best. Suns Georgia Bevan also featured with her 19 disposals and nine tackles.

Eloise Chaston, also on her Hawks debut, was electric inside 50 kicking the teams lone goal but almost adding a few more from her 14 disposals.

Mia-Rae Clifford had two crucial goals for Essendon and was helped by Simone Nadler, Alexandra Morcom and veteran Ceceilia Mcintosh. 

Southern Saints duo Tayla Kearns and Gabriella De Angelis starred with two goals a piece and in the votes in the win over the Seagulls.

Ruby Tripodi and Aimee Whelan both collected 18 disposals and were amongst the best for their work in the middle for Williamstown in a tough loss.

Stephanie Simpson’s four-goal haul propelled Darebin to their first win of the season. Manaia Huta and Victoria Blackwood played a massive role in the win as well.

Port Melbourne’s midfield duo of Courtney Bromage and Claire Dyett featured heavily to keep the Borough unbeaten through six rounds. Bromage lay an impressive 11 tackles and Dyett collected 15 disposals.

Molly Denahy-Maloney played her best game for the Dogs with her 17 disposals and six marks.

Eliza West did her best to kept the Casey Demons in the game gathering 22 disposals against Geelong while opponent Theresia Meissner had another great performance to help the Cats hold on.

Collingwood captain Caitlin Bunker led from the front and had big impact on the contest alongside teammates Mollie Emond and Marla Neal. 

Akayla Peterson continues to show great pace and run and carry for the Blues and was well supported by Teresa Zampaglione and Jorja Borg in the middle.
