AFTER a whopping 10 delistings during the AFLW Sign and Trade Period, West Coast has its eyes firmly on the draft.
The Eagles had a longer list than most due to injury replacement players, but it was a clear decision by the club to hit the draft heavily.
"From our point of view, our strategy is to go to the draft. We're really excited about the WA pool this year, as you would have seen with the National Champs over in Victoria, I thought the WA girls did really well," list manager Jordan Loxley told Credit to the Girls podcast.
"I think the pool's quite good, and I feel as if we're still in a bit of a rebuilding phase. We've got some real top-end talent, which is great, but now we have to bring in some younger players."
Loxley also explains how the club targeted the somewhat out-of-favour Evie Gooch and just how the rarely used restricted free agency helped land Aimee Schmidt from GWS.
Credit to the Girls is in the midst of an off-season mini-series, with each of the 14 clubs put under the microscope around trade and the draft.
