FRESH off a fruitful AFLW Sign and Trade Period that saw the club land All-Australians Tayla Harris and Liv Purcell, Melbourne is gunning for an elusive first flag.
The Dees have consistently been in the top echelon of sides in the AFLW.
They missed the Grand Final in 2017 and 2018 by percentage, missed finals despite having a better record than all five teams in the other conference in 2019, and qualified for preliminary finals in 2020 and 2021.
"We go into every season, and I think every team should, wanting to win the premiership. I don't know what sort of message we're sending to our players if we're not," club list manager Todd Patterson told Credit to the Girls podcast.
Patterson also explains how important it was to land two big names in the Trade Period and the 'humorous' reaction to the Harris trade.
Credit to the Girls is in the midst of an off-season mini-series, with each of the 14 clubs put under the microscope around trade and the draft.
