RICHMOND was caught off guard as much as anyone by Jess Hosking's shock trade request in the dying stages in the AFLW Sign and Trade Period.
The Tigers' head of women's football Kate Sheahan has revealed to the Credit to the Girls podcast just how the frantic trade played out.
"It blew up very, very late. It took everyone by surprise. To be honest, I think it almost took Jess by surprise. Jess called me on the Monday (with the deadline on Wednesday) and just said, 'is there a possibility I could get to the footy club?'

"I said to her, 'Jeepers, you've thrown me a curveball here, but I'm never going to say never'.
"We were really keen on Jess the year before we came into the AFLW, and we've been keen on her from the very start, so it wasn't a surprise to her that we showed interest again this season [when she asked]."
Sheahan also discussed the player swap which saw Sabrina Frederick and Maddie Shevlin change clubs, the decision to delist Phoebe Monahan and the club's draft plans.
Credit to the Girls is in the midst of an off-season mini-series, with each of the 14 clubs put under the microscope around trade and the draft.
