YOUNG Geelong defender Millie Brown has joined teammate Denby Taylor on the inactive list for the 2021/22 season.

The Cats announced Brown's status on Tuesday night at the conclusion of the NAB AFLW Draft.

Like Taylor a month prior, Geelong said Brown will "take a break from football" for the upcoming season.

The 20-year-old, who was taken as a father-daughter selection in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft, played three games in 2021 as she battled an ongoing hamstring complaint.

Brown played all six games in her debut season, impressing with her steadiness and maturity in defence.

Geelong selected midfielders Georgie Prespakis, Zali Friswell and Annabel Johnson in the draft, as well as local key forward Gabbi Featherston.
