COLLINGWOOD has appointed AFLW list manager Jess Burger as its head of women's football.
Jane Woodlands-Thompson departed the club's head of women's sport role last month, with the job then split in half to look after the Magpies A/VFLW and netball programs respectively.
Burger first joined the club in 2016 as a performance analyst, and has worked across both the men's and women's programs. She was added to the AFL's AFLW Competition Committee this year.

"Jess has a first-rate football mind and an excellent way of working with teams. We are really pleased to appoint her to the role of head of women’s football," Collingwood CEO Mark Anderson said.
"Jess has played an integral role in developing the strategy, list development and delivery of our women’s football programs since our AFLW team’s inception."
St Kilda has also appointed its own head of women's football, with Tessie McManus taking over from Jamie Cox, who has returned to cricket, taking up a role at Lord's in England.
McManus has a wide array of experience in football, working at the AFL in the football operations department for 18 years before holding the position of head of AFLW operations at Collingwood.

St Kilda has also finalised its assistants to work alongside new senior coach Nick Dal Santo in 2022.
Former Pie and Hawk Alex Woodward has joined as midfield coach, while Port Melbourne VFLW coach Lachlan Harris will work with the forward line. Dale Robinson has retained her role as AFLW development and VFLW senior coach.
The Saints have shuffled their remaining coaches: Michael Hooper (defence) has left, replaced by midfield coach David Carden. Senior assistant Paddy Hill has moved into head of development and strategy, while former premiership Bulldog Nicky Callinan has added a development aspect to her mentor/runner role.
Brendon Lade (midfield coach for the AFL team) will mentor Dal Santo, while current AFL Saint Mason Wood will assist with fitness and conditioning.
Former players Courtney Cramey and Leah Kaslar have joined Adelaide's coaching ranks.
Two-time premiership Crow Cramey retired at the end of 2020, and has most recently been working with both men's and women's teams at Glenunga football club at local level.
Kaslar was delisted by Gold Coast this year, having been the club's inaugural AFLW co-captain and also skippering Brisbane in 2019.
She will combine her duties as a development coach with playing in the SANFLW, after being passed over in the Victorian portion of the NAB AFLW Draft.

The Crows have added a third female coach in Emma Sampson, who has most recently been an assistant at North Adelaide W after her own playing career, and has also represented Australia in cricket as a fast bowler.
Peter Caven will continue his assistant coaching duties at the club.
The Western Bulldogs have added former Geelong skipper Melissa Hickey to its assistant coaching ranks.
Hickey retired in 2020, and was named coach of the NAB AFLW Under-19 Championships for her efforts with Vic Country.
The Dogs have also brought former Docker and Blue Kirby Bentley into the fold as a development coach. The 35-year-old was also a regular participant in the exhibition matches prior to the introduction of the AFLW.
Reigning premier Brisbane will have a re-jigged coaching panel assisting Craig Starcevich.
The club previously announced recently retired skipper Emma Zielke will replace inaugural assistant Brett Staker as defensive coach, with Staker moving to New South Wales for family reasons.
The Lions have now added Daniel Webster and Damien Richards as assistant coaches.
Both have worked with the club’s academy program. Webster has most recently coached Aspley in the 2021 VFL season, while Richards has led Coorparoo to successive flags in the QAFLW.
Clark Keating has taken a step back from his midfield role but will work as a part-time specialist coach alongside former premiership teammate Simon Black, while Phil Lovett has returned as forwards coach.

Richmond has added former Pie Emma Grant as a development coach, having spent this year as an assistant coach with Bendigo Pioneers and Vic Country.
The Tigers have retained assistant coaches Lauren Tesoriero, Andrew Browne and Nathan Chapman.
Carlton has announced former player Shaun Hampson has joined the club's AFLW coaching panel as "ruck and bodywork" coach.
Hampson played 63 games for the Blues after being drafted in 2006, adding a further 35 games at Richmond before retiring due to consistent back issues.
