FORMER Sydney rookie Lloyd Perris has been appointed AFLW senior assistant coach at Greater Western Sydney and will take charge of the midfield.

Three knee reconstructions ended Perris' AFL ambitions at just 21, but he turned his attention to coaching, and has worked in the AFL Sydney competition for five years and has also spent time as a Swans development coach.

"I’m really excited to be joining the Giants. The strong club values and the quality of the people within the organisation have already been evident through the way people have reached out to welcome and support me," Perris said.

"The AFLW program has gone from strength to strength in recent years thanks to the tireless work of Alan McConnell and (Head of Women’s Football) Bri Harvey and the opportunity for me to join a quality program with a strong list and culture is one I’m grateful for.

"Working with Al (McConnell) is something that really excites me about this role, he’s incredibly experienced and has an understanding of the game like few coaches I’ve met."

Jon Vlatko (forwards) and Darren Rattan (defenders) will be in charge of their respective lines for a third successive year.

Gold Coast has also confirmed its panel to work with Cam Joyce, with former Suns player and current club Academy coach Sam Iles taking on the role of midfield coach.

Jarrod Wells will look after the defenders, while Kieran Daly is in charge of the forwards for a second year.

Matt Bedford (runner) and Brooks Mustey (bench coach) hold development coaching roles with the side as well as their additional duties.

The club is in the process of filling its two female coaching scholarships.

"With so many of our players coming through the Suns Academy, we thought it was advantageous to create a link with current Academy coaches joining our AFLW program," Gold Coast head of women's footy Fiona Sessarago said.

"This ensures that we continue to develop local talent and provide Suns Academy graduates with a smooth transition to AFLW football and also a pathway for local coaches."

When contacted, Carlton said it would confirm its assistant coaching panel in the next few weeks.
