GREATER Western Sydney has confirmed one of its players has tested positive to COVID-19 after travelling to Melbourne over the weekend.
The result came on Monday from a home rapid antigen test, before a PCR test confirmed the positive case.
The player has not attended the club since returning from Melbourne, but three teammates have been deemed close contacts and are self-isolating despite returning negative tests.
All four players will continue to follow NSW Government and AFL health protocols and guidelines.
Every GWS player and staff member from the club's AFLW and AFL programs are fully vaccinated.
Swift response from all in @GWSGIANTS AFLW program. On top of it. All players and staff vaxxed. Few players extended stay at home this week. It’s going to happen and we are good at adapting.
