BROUGHT TO YOU BYNAB

EXCITING Brisbane debutant Zimmorlei Farquharson and second-year Demon Megan Fitzsimon have been named the round three NAB AFLW Rising Star nominees.

Farquharson, taken with pick No.8 in the 2020 NAB AFLW Draft, got the call-up with Dakota Davidson currently injured, and immediately made an impact in attack for the Lions. The debutant set up her side's first goal of the game with her first touch.

Using speed on the wing, Farquharson took off toward the forward 50, taking a casual bounce in the process, and expertly delivering the ball to Jesse Wardlaw near the goalsquare.

Ending the game with 12 disposals and 325 metres gained, Farquharson also kicked a spectacular goal from the tightest of angles, while dangerous in attack all night.

Melbourne has celebrated Rising Star nominees across consecutive weeks now, with Megan Fitzsimon getting the nod the week after Alyssa Bannan in round two.

The Demons was drafted Fitzsimon with pick 35 in 2020 and she played two games in her debut season last year. Fitzsimon has played every game so far in 2022, starting in the backline in round one before graduating to the forward line in recent weeks.

Across the first three rounds Fitzsimon is averaging 226.3 metres gained with her 10.7 disposals, and kicked her first goal against the Saints on Saturday with a classy snap out of congestion late in the game.
