THE SECRET to Adelaide's stingy defence isn't unique, but is hard to come by in short AFLW seasons – experience.
The Crows have conceded just 42 points – not an average, a season total – over its three games this season, the lowest of any side. That's 14 points per game.
Of the teams who have also played three matches, North Melbourne is next best with a total of 82 points against, or 27.3 points per game.

Sarah Allan is the fullback and defensive general of the side, which also features Marijana Rajcic, Najwa Allen, Stevie-Lee Thompson, Nikki Gore and former key forward Chelsea Biddell, among others.
"Something I'm really proud to be part of is our defensive team, we actually work really well as a unit, so we always have each others' backs. You understand the players you'll be playing on, but we like to work together," Allan said.
"We've got a great group which has had a few years together, with a new addition of Chelsea Biddell. We're really excited to have her back there, she's a great contested mark, and it's really exciting to see how her form has come in.
"We work really well together and we understand it's not about ourselves, it's how we work together as a group and how that can affect everyone else up the ground. Having a couple of years together as a group means we've come into some great form together."
Adelaide will be taking on fellow undefeated side Melbourne on Saturday, but the Crows won't necessarily be taking any extra confidence from their comfortable preliminary final win over the Demons last year.
"We take in a fresh mindset. Last year, we played them twice and it was different results each time," Allan said.
"Every game is different and we'll go in with the same mentality we do every game. We'll play to our strengths and we treat all opposition the same – we respect them and take on the game, so we're really excited."
Allan identified a number of factors of which the Crows will be wary, given the way Melbourne has impressed with its run-and-carry game so far in 2022.
"Their squad overall, they have a lot of depth. All over the ground they have strong competitors," she said.
"I like to think our team is very similar to that, we play as a team as well and I'm really excited to see how we go up against them. They're really good in the contest, their outside run and everything like that."
