NAB AFLW flag fancies Adelaide deny rolling the proverbial dice on the fitness of inspirational captain Chelsea Randall, who has suffered another hamstring injury.

Randall limped off with a right hamstring injury in the second quarter of Adelaide's 14-point win against Melbourne on Saturday - the Crows' fourth consecutive victory.

Randall also injured her right hamstring in round two and was sidelined for round three.

AFLW head of football Phil Harper said Randall will be sidelined for at least this Sunday's match against Carlton and possibly longer.

"She tested really well before the game, however a game is different to testing," Harper said.

"She’ll probably be out for at least a couple of weeks but we don’t know the full extent yet."

Prime midfield mover Ebony Marinoff says Randall's return to action wasn't rushed after a strong week on the training track.

2022 FIXTURE Every match, every round

"It was actually really disappointing because last week she was really flying on the track as Randall does," Marinoff told reporters on Monday.

"She definitely did all the right things.

"They (medicos) will do all the right things but potentially just be a little bit more cautious given the fact she ticked all the boxes (last week) and still tweaked it a little bit.

"Because she ticked all the boxes to play, that would be really silly not to play your captain when she is capable of playing, so I don't think there's any reason that she shouldn't have played."

Randall's injury came as Adelaide banked a fourth win on the trot - the Crows are the ladder leaders with Fremantle, the only other unbeaten side, in second spot.

"It has been an awesome start," Marinoff said.

"We knew what we were capable of at the end of pre-season so to be able to be 4-0 is very pleasing.

"But as we all know, things can change very quickly in the AFLW space.

"We are up and about but we certainly know it's a long season.

"It's super exciting to be a part of wins early on, being 4-0 is great because we have done so much work in the preseason to be able to play the way we have.

"The vibes are great but we certainly take every week as it comes so we will just keep doing what we have been doing."
