PROMISING Carlton midfielder Mimi Hill is poised to make her return from a torn ACL this weekend.

A decision has not yet been made about whether the comeback will be made at AFLW or VFLW level, with the final round of the reserves competition's practice matches to be played this weekend.

The 19-year-old underwent a reconstruction on her left knee after suffering the injury in early March last year, and had impressed in her first six games, averaging 12.3 disposals and kicking two goals.

"She’s had an outstanding rehab, her work rate and her application to that has been fantastic," Carlton head of women's footy Brett Munro said.

"She’s been in our program, full training for the last three weeks and depending on this week, she’ll be up for selection – VFLW and AFLW both play this week so we’re hoping to see Mimi Hill running around in the navy blue."

2022 FIXTURE Every match, every round

Carlton will be forced to make at least one change as it stands, with the round four NAB AFLW Rising Star nominee Keeley Sherar having broken her hand in the game which resulted in her recognition.

The winger suffered the break in the first quarter but played out the match, finishing with 19 disposals, and after undergoing surgery is expected to miss two weeks.

After being forced to play two matches without a recognised key forward, both Jess Good and Imogen Milford have been cleared from AFL health and safety protocols, as has integral defender Gab Pound.

Midfielder Grace Egan has resumed running and some drills after suffering a punctured lung and broken ribs in round one. At this stage, she is expected to return in two or three weeks
