The Tigers bounced back against the Eagles on the weekend, with a 23-point win in the Perth heat. While off the field, Sarah Hosking took some seriously cool snaps of their time away in our next instalment of Play Away, with AFLW partner, Accor.
When I travel interstate for footy, I love to go for a walk or get some fresh air. On this trip we were under very strict rules from the WA government and couldn’t actually leave our hotel to go anywhere except for training and the game. So, we managed to see the ins and outs of the hotel (great service might I add - the staff were outstanding, having to abide by COVID-19 regulations and still managing to make an effortless stay for all of our players and staff). The bucket list beaches will have to wait for the next trip when restrictions ease!
For this trip I packed boots, clothes, trackies and a hoodie (though that definitely wasn’t needed in 37-degree heat!), blanket and pillow (came in handy on the plane). I also bought my Nikon camera, two Polaroids and my laptop.
The rooftop pool on the 13th floor of the Mercure Perth had great views and was nice and relaxing. It helped with my preparation and my room was nice and spacious, which also made it a more comfortable stay.
The worst teammate to room with I’d have to say is Jess Hosking! She doesn’t bring toothpaste, sometimes snores, tries to share my suitcase and all of my belongings. We had the luxury of having our own rooms this time which was a nice change. The best roommate option I’d have to say is myself. I don’t snore, I have good banter and I usually have a great snack supply.
I love capturing behind the scenes moments and trying to show the different personalities of people around me. I’m a rookie behind the camera but I’m loving learning the different stories you can tell with one picture.
I’m dreaming of my next big trip - either Canada in the winter or somewhere warm and tropical in the summer!
