THE AFL confirms the NAB AFLW Round Nine match between the Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos on Sunday, March 6, has been moved from Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex to Victoria University Whitten Oval.

After careful consideration and exploring all other options together with both clubs, current weather conditions in Queensland forced a venue change.

The match will be played in the same timeslot of 1:10pm AEDT on Sunday and will be broadcast live via the Seven Network.

Entry to the match at VU Whitten Oval will be free for all football supporters.

AFL General Manager Competition Management Laura Kane thanked both clubs for their flexibility in changing venues and said the AFL's thoughts are with the communities affected by floods.

"Our thoughts are with all football clubs and communities in Wide Bay, Southeast Queensland and the Northern New South Wales who are impacted by the current floods," Ms Kane said.

"We thank the Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne football clubs for their flexibility as we worked through alternative arrangements for this game.

Any person who had previously purchased a ticket to the match in Maroochydore will receive a full refund. No action is required from the ticket purchaser.
