The National Player Registration and Transfer Regulations set out the national framework of rules and regulations in relation to the transfer of players within Australian football.
The purpose of the Regulations is to ensure player registration and movement within and between clubs is fair, transparent and consistent.
As a result of community football transitioning to a new competition management platform (being PlayHQ) during the second half of 2021, the AFL have made changes to the periods during which players may be transferred under the National Player Registration and Transfer Regulations, which will apply in respect of the 2022 community football season.
