It’s been pretty much a normal week for the boys at the Club so far. We’ve had recovery from last weekend’s game along with review meetings, gym sessions, and skills training.
It’s a shame that we have lost both Mitch Clark and Ash McGrath to suspension this week because both are quality players. But it is also exciting because it gives a couple other players an opportunity to show what they can offer the senior side.
It was great to see big Bart McCulloch up and running this week after what can only be described as an unlucky year for him in 2009. The witty Tasmanian should be back playing in the Reserves in a couple of weeks which will be great to see.
It’s also great to see Toddy ‘Pumpkin’ Banfield doing well for the Club. After playing with and against him growing up in Western Australia, it is great to see him performing well in the seniors and showing everyone his talent.
Being a keen golfer, I really enjoyed watching the world’s top golfers slog it out in the prestigious Masters tournament over in Augusta (USA). Tiger Woods’ comeback was fascinating to watch and to see those glimpses of magic from him was incredible.
However, Phil Mickleson was a very worthy winner and played fantastic golf over the whole four days. His shot out of the trees on the last day was one of the best I have ever seen!
Hopefully we can get a massive crowd to the Gabba this Saturday night for the match against the Bulldogs. The noise from our fans has been great so far this year and could help us get over the line.
