WEST Coast will be encouraged by coach Adam Simpson to embrace the hype of Grand Final week.
Of the Eagles players who played in the preliminary final win over North Melbourne, only Sharrod Wellingham, Xavier Ellis and Sam Butler have featured in a Grand Final.
Hawthorn had only two players, James Frawley and Billy Hartung, play in the preliminary final who have not played in a Grand Final.
Simpson has experienced Grand Final weeks as a player at North Melbourne and as an assistant coach at Hawthorn and he told 6PR that he would not shield his players from the external hype.
"I'm not sure you can stop it," Simpson said.
"You can pretend you're treating it like any other week or any other game but we all know the reality.
"I don't think we can get in the way of it. We've just got to embrace what the week is and try to be as relaxed as we can knowing it's a massive game."
The Eagles had an estimated crowd of 10,000 people watch a routine 30-minute recovery and skills session on Monday.
All 22 players who played in the preliminary final were out on the track.
Simpson said he had not received a full medical report on his playing group this week but there were no obvious issues.
The Eagles beat Hawthorn in the qualifying final without Matt Priddis or Chris Masten but Simpson expected a different Hawthorn side in the Grand Final.
"I think we'll face Hawthorn at their best on the weekend, which is another level up on what we experienced two weeks ago," Simpson said.
