The Blues are back in town! . . . more specifically, Carlton town and their spiritual home away from home, Lygon Street.

And yesterday, as part of the club's push to reconnect with Melbourne's most famous restaurant strip, Carlton's Anthony Koutoufides quite literally flew the old dark navy blue flag.

With the help of Lygon Street's shoptraders, "Kouta" hoisted one of 42 banners which are to grace the strip through the impending winter. Emblazoned with the famous CFC monogram, the banners also carry the message "We are the Navy Blues . . . part of your community . . . get to a game".

The banners will be seen along Lygon Street at strategic vantage points from Grattan to Faraday Street, Faraday to Elgin Street, Elgin to Keppel Street corner, Victoria Parade to Queensberry Street and Queensberry to Grattan Street.

"Kouta" and the boys will be conspicuous by their presence at the many and varied cafes and eateries on Lygon Street through the course of this season - between training sessions of course!
