ADELAIDE forward Mitch McGovern will be sidelined for up to three months with a torn hamstring, but Crows medical staff are hopeful he can be back within eight weeks.
McGovern suffered the hamstring injury in his side's round three win in the Showdown with Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
The Crows are optimistic McGovern won't need surgery, but he is continuing to be assessed.
"Mitch has progressed really well in the early stages of his rehab and will spend about two months on the sidelines," Crows general manager of high performance Matt Hass told afc.com.au.
The promising young forward is out of contract at the end of the season and is a key part of the Crows' attack.
In better news, defender Jake Kelly could be available for Saturday's clash with Gold Coast depending on the severity of an eye injury.
Kelly was accidently poked in the eye in the second quarter of the Crows' win over Essendon and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Jake was sent to the hospital for assessment and will see a specialist again today to assess his availability again for the weekend," Hass said.
Exciting winger Charlie Cameron is expected to be right to face the Suns after finishing the win over Essendon on the bench after copping a knock.
"Charlie Cameron left the ground and was experiencing some general soreness around his hips," Hass said.
"He's showed up (at the club) pretty well this morning.
"We expect him to train fully and be available for the weekend."
Forward Josh Jenkins will train on Wednesday to attempt to prove he has recovered from two cracked ribs, but he is more than likely another week or two away.
