PARTS of the Melbourne suburb of Richmond were hit with power outages on Saturday morning, hours before the Tigers play off in a preliminary final at the MCG.
Some local pubs had been affected, with the Mountain View Hotel, one of those closest to the MCG, confirming its power had come back on around 12pm.
A CitiPower spokesperson confirmed to AFL.com.au a crew had been dispatched to rectify the problem.
The issue had no impact on the MCG, which is on the other side of Punt Road.
The preliminary final is expected to generate huge turnover for pubs and bars throughout the Richmond heartland as fans who can't get to the game gather to watch the action.
Venues in Swan Street and Bridge Road are also expected to be packed with fans before and after the game.
Upwards of 98,000 fans are expected at the MCG for Saturday's game which begins at 4.45pm.
